THE POSITION

A passionate Event Manager who demonstrates strong commercial acumen, loves being part of the community their event serves and has a desire to develop an event that is the beating heart of the UK pub industry. This exciting opportunity will allow you to take ownership of PUB20 by having the freedom to autonomously drive its strategic growth and direction, whilst delivering on all commercial elements and liaising with the event team across all departments in the day-to-day running of the event.

PUB20 is unique in its offering. Totally dedicated to the UK pub industry, there is no other event like it and you’ll delve deep into the pub world in order to become a trusted source of pub industry knowledge and connections. The position requires you to be fully immersed in the pub industry, enabling you to create relationships and opportunities for suppliers, pub owners and operators attending the show. We curate the exhibition, aesthetics and content with an aim to fulfil and delight the 4500 strong publican audience. Our visitors attend, not only to source great products from our exhibitors and partners, but to learn, network with their community and enjoy an inspired experience, all at the same time.

THE ROLE
  • To lead the event team by example in the day-to-day running of the event
  • To develop & implement an event plan which explores new opportunities and drives growth
  • To be responsible for the commercial success of the show through strategic selling, high conversion and efficient curation
  • To develop key partnerships, both commercial and content which drive revenue and visitor engagement
  • To develop a deep knowledge of the pub sector to identify evolving trends and best practices and to cherish relationships within the community
  • To effectively line manage the Commercial Executive, driving the commercial success of the event by ensuring a focus on coaching to enable the achievement of targets and personal development goals
  • To create effective, tailored sponsorship opportunities and write respective proposals
  • To work collaboratively the Marketing Team to develop a strong commercial marketing campaign
  • To influence the Marketing Team’s visitor campaign due to great industry knowledge and connections
  • To work closely with the Operations Team with regards to floorplan management and to physically realise the event vision
  • Generate stand and sponsorship revenue over the phone and face to face
  • Attend industry networking and social events to immerse yourself in the community
  • Visit pubs to build relationships with owners and managers to enable yourself to really understand how to curate the show to serve the industry’s needs
  • Visit competitive events, meet existing customers and prospect for new business
  • Work closely with the event team on collaborative projects

OUR EXPECTATIONS

  • A minimum one years’ experience at manager level within sales/events/exhibitions or related industry
  • A high-performance level, ensuring targets and goals are met as a minimum
