The Experiences Division at Montgomery Group are looking for a passionate Marketing Manager with a minimum of 4 years of experience within a marketing / events / exhibitions (or related industry) who demonstrates a creative and pragmatic approach. The position requires you to be fully immersed within the hotel industry, enabling you to create relationships and gain a thorough understanding of what our events must provide to satisfy both our visitor and exhibitor needs.

The Independent Hotel Show is the Business Event for Luxury & Boutique Hotels. Now in its 8th year, the Show presents a curated collection of over 250 innovative product and service providers from across the hotel supply chain. Together with expert insight from our Seminar Programme and multiple networking opportunities, the Independent Hotel Show is designed to satisfy the demand of hoteliers committed to improving their business. In 2019 we launched Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam, an opportunity to present the much-loved UK show to a new European audience. Amsterdam was a huge success and our aim is to now increase the growth of the show to a similar size to our London show and explore opportunities for new launch events around the globe.

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role managing event marketing campaigns
  • Keen interest in the hotel and hospitality sector
  • An innovator – looking at the future, industry trends and visitor / exhibitor needs to keep the events number one in the industry
  • Strong marketing experience across all elements of the marketing mix; preferably from a B2B background
  • Excellent skills in motivating and developing team members
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Good understanding of digital marketing skills – SEO, PPC
  • Be a confident communicator in all mediums – written, face-to-face & on the phone
  • Excellent creative skills and be able to look at new and innovative ways of approaching the marketing requirements of each event
  • The ability to meet deadlines. Event dates do not move and therefore time management is critical for the role
  • Excellent copywriting skills and an eye for detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Adobe Photoshop experience would be an advantage
  • Planning, coordinating, implementing & monitoring all marketing communication activities to ensure deadlines are met, are within budget and in-line with the event marketing goals
  • Managing and developing dedicated projects to improve visitor attendance
  • Developing a strategy for a comprehensive commercial campaign to create leads for commercial team
  • Managing, developing and motivating one Marketing Executive
  • Attending industry events to gain excellent understanding of the market
  • Analysing and sharing insights based on the results of marketing activities
  • Management of the print process from brief to delivery
  • Specification and management of event websites
  • Writing material for inclusion on the website and within all collateral and emails
  • Sorting media partner agreements and liaising with media partners to ensure that agreed plans are being delivered
  • Working closely with suppliers including design houses, direct mail companies, printers, PR agencies and registration companies


  • To be punctual. Exhibitions create some situations that will require you to make an early start or stay late
