PHOTOFAIRS, Asia’s leading international art fair dedicated to photography and new media is searching for a Marketing Manager. Since its launch in 2014, PHOTOFAIRS has cemented its position as a high-curated and bespoke platform that connects galleries, collectors, and curators from across the Asia Pacific region.

Based out of the Shanghai office, we are seeking a results-focused, enthusiastic marketer to take the position of Marketing Manager for PHOTOFAIRS. This role looks for an individual who will offer and innovative and creative marketing strategy that will ensure the delivery of a high-end, culturally engaged audience to PHOTOFAIRS. Experience in the luxury or fine art sectors is considered favorable.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to develop marketing partnerships throughout cities in China for the event. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin and highly developed interpersonal skills are essential. You will be a self-starting, personable, energetic, and results orientated individual. In addition, you should be an efficient team player, have the ability to work under pressure, be able to work flexibly and autonomously, and have experience of managing a busy timeline.


  • Develop and implement marketing strategy to drive a high-end audience attendance to increase sales on behalf of our exhibitors and generating ticket revenue for the business;
  • Develop and implement Partnership marketing strategy;
  • Develop creative marketing communications campaigns using all channels – email, online, social media, SEM, PR, print and outdoor advertising, direct mail, grassroots strategies;
  • Online strategy marketing;
  • Oversee the preparation of event marketing materials;
  • Manage effective distribution of marketing materials, both print and online;
  • Identify and establish relationships with key websites, existing exhibitors and online blogs;
  • Develop and maintain systems and processes that allow the team to carry out and report on campaign progress and success, including ticket revenue


  • University Graduate;
  • Minimum of 2/3 years of work experience in marketing, ideally within the luxury brand/events industry;
  • Event marketing experience and knowledge of the art world would be advantageous, but not essential;
  • Copywriting experience is also an advantage;
  • High levels of creativity and innovation;
  • Attention to detail; 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Chinese;
  • Excellent business étiquette;
  • Highly efficient organisational skills;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Good understanding of social media and digital marketing;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Able to use basic functions of Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop;
